Karl Schreiber placed 15th to pace the Sam Houston men's cross country team as the Bearkats finished sixth as a team in the Southland Conference Championships Monday morning in Natchitoches, La.
Schreiber posted an 8,000 meter time of 24:50. Ryan Saam (25:10) and Colton Stoker (25:12) finished 26th and 27th respectively for SHSU. Other Bearkat performances included Patrick Pitts 38th (25:32), Evan Arambula 42nd (25:37), Grant Buley 44th (25:44), Logan Terry 48th (25:56) and John Bounds 70th (27:30).
Lamar won the team championship and the Cardinals' Sam Stabler was the individual conference champion. The LU men totaled 26 points. Stabler posted a time of 23:29.
Stephen F. Austin (48) was the runner-up followed by McNeese State (97), A&M-Corpus Christi (107), Central Arkansas (128), Sam Houston (148), Houston Baptist (206), Incarnate Word (242), Abilene Christian (274), Northwestern State (292), Southeastern Louisiana (294), New Orleans (344) and Nicholls (399).
