Kats take three big Southland honors
The NCAA Division I Women's Golf championship field was announced on Wednesday afternoon with the Sam Houston State Bearkats being sent to Norman, Oklahoma for their first-ever appearance in a regional tournament.
MAGNOLIA – Kenlie Barrett became the first Sam Houston freshman to win a Southland golf title and with the team victory, the Kats have punched their first ticket to the NCAA Regionals.

AUGUSTA -- After a rough start to the day, Hanna Alberto settled in at the Augusta National Women's Amateur on Tuesday, shooting a 74 to finish 46th in the field of the top 72 amateur golfers in the world.
Playing at the Champions Retreat course in Augusta, Alberto birdied holes 17 and 18 to finish out her day with a 5-over, 77. She currently sits in 47th place in a field of the top 72 amateur golfers in the world.
Today Hanna Alberto will make history for the Sam Houston State golf program when she tees off at the Augusta National Women's Amateur.
The Sam Houston State women finished in 5that the Cardinal Challenge hosted by Lamar on Monday and Tuesday.
Alberto shot a 75 on the final day of the HBU Husky Invitational to claim the individual title. It's her fourth title of the season which breaks the record for most wins in a season. It is also her seventh career championship which is also a new school record.
