Brent Musburger and Jesse Palmer, the lead broadcast team for the new SEC Network, will be the announcers for Sam Houston’s game at LSU’s Tiger Stadium next Saturday.
Musburger, a recognized voice in the broadcasting industry who was one of the original members of CBS Sports’ The NFL Today, is a top announcer for ESPN and ABC. He also has covered the NBA, MLB, NCAA football and basketball and NASCAR.
Joining Musburger and Palmer on the telecast will be sidelines reporter Maria Taylor.
The SEC Network had its inaugural telecast this summer.
The telecast will mark Sam Houston’s 12th national appearance on the ESPN family of networks in the past four years.
Saturday’s game with Sam Houston is the first for nationally-ranked LSU in its newly renovated Tiger Stadium. The facility’s capacity has been expanded to more than 102,000 seats.
The largest crowd ever to see the Bearkats play football was 88,913 in Memorial State at the University of Texas in Austin in 2006. Sam Houston’s meetings with Texas A&M at Kyle Field drew 87,147 in 2012 and 86,864 in 2013.
