Mitchell had an outstanding first season with the Bearkats, earning Southland Conference Newcomer of the Year and third-team all-conference honors … averaged 12.5 points and 7.6 rebounds in 33 games, 32 of which he started … had 37 assists, 34 steals and 24 blocks on the season … scored a career-high 24 points against TCU (3/20) in the opening round of the NIT … brought down a career-high 14 rebounds in a win over Nicholls (2/20).
Helped the Blue Dragons claim a No. 11 seed in the NJCAA Tournament, advancing to the Sweet 16 ... averaged 6.2 points and a team-high 6.5 rebounds per game ... also added 2.7 assists, a team-best 1.3 blocks and 1.2 steals per game to his line ... was a force in helping Hutch claim a league title last year, turning in his best game against Independence CC when he had 17 points and 17 rebounds in an 80-63 win ... battled through an ankle injury for most of the season, but still missed just one of 36 games, starting in 26.
