Coming off her Florida State PEPSI Championship victory where she average 239.00 for 6 games, Elise Chambers who will join the 2018-2019 Bearkat squad from Ocoee, Fla.
“Elise has a ton of natural athleticism when it comes to bowling. She possesses a lot of the traits we are looking for when developing talented young ladies who can learn to compete at a very high level on and off the lanes from academics to athletics.” Hagen said. “Elise is very competitive yet humble and those two items are very dangerous in the NCAA competitive world which makes her an ideal fit with this team.”
Some of Chambers’ most recent accomplishments include a top-100 finish at the 2017 Junior Gold Championships presented by Ebonite International where she finished 84th in the (U20 Division) out of a field of nearly 900 of the nations most talented ladies. The Junior Gold Championships is an annual national tournament for the top male and female youth bowlers in the United States. The tournament awards scholarships and the youth bowlers competing in the U20 and U15 divisions also have the opportunity to earn a spot on Junior Team USA.
In 2015, Chambers was a part of her high school state championship team. The following summer in 2016 with her Circle Christian High school team, they went on to win the inaugural U.S. High School Bowling Team National Championship in her home state of Florida. The event, was created to display the best boys and girls high school bowlers from across the country and to promote the importance and growth of high school bowling across the United States.
The Florida State and national high school champion joins the Bearkats with a very strong academic background where's she has posted a 3.89 GPA, ranks among the top in her graduating class, and plans to focus her academic future as an Education Major.
