John Holder serves as Sam Houston State's administrative coordinator, assisting associate athletic director for finance Bobbie Hillard with budget preparation and implementation.

Holder has worked as part of the Bearkats' athletic administration staff since 1997. He served as NCAA compliance coordinator from 2003 to June, 2009.

A 1991 graduate of Lumberton High School, Holder first joined the Sam Houston State athletic staff as manager for the Bearkat baseball team. He received his Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Sam Houston State in 1996 and his Masters of Business Administration degree in 2000. He has worked as part of the Bearkat athletic administration team since 1997.
