Josh Church joined the Sam Houston State University staff as  an assistant athletic trainer in August 2011 to take over responsibilities of athletic injuries for the volleyball, women's basketball, and tennis programs.

Church came to Huntsville from University of Missouri-Kansas City where he served two years as a graduate assistant athletic trainer for the sports of men's and women's cross country, men's and women's track and field, and softball.  He earned his Master of Arts degree in Higher Education Administration from UMKC in 2011.

A native of Bladen, Nebraska, Church received bis Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science from Truman State University in 2009.
