The home for Bearkat track and field is the Meredith and Miriam York Track Complex.

The complex is named for the late Meredith and Miriam York, long time Sam Houston State track and field supports. A special marker located at the entrance to Bowers Stadium for the complex was unveiled in May, 2004.

The complex includes a throwing center north of Bowers Stadium and jump and pole vault areas and the running track inside Bowers Stadium.

Sam Houston State University twice has been the site of the Southland Conference outdoor track and field meet and annually hosts both the Meredith York Relays, an intercollegiate meet in March, and the UIL Class AAAA Regional meet in April.
