HAMMOND, LA -- The Sam Houston State men's golf team finished seventh in the 13-team field at the Carter Plantation Intercollegiate hosted by Southeastern Louisiana Monday and Tuesday.

Garrrett Driver and Justin McKay posted the top two individual scores for Sam Houston. Driver was 17th with a two-day total of 75-74-71--220. McKay finished 29th with a 70-78-76--224 card.

Louisiana-Lafayette won the team competition with a 54-hole score of 870. Rice was the runner-up at 871, followed by Central Arkansas and New Orleans 872, UT-Arlington 875, Southeastern Louisiana 884, Sam Houston and Arkansas State 892, Jacksonville State 898, Stephen F. Austin 903, Louisiana-Monroe 906, McNeese State 926 and Nicholls 936.

Zack Fischer of UTA won the individual medalist title with a 69-73-67--209 score.

Other Sam Houston finishes and scores included Fergal Rafferty 34th at 225, Kort O'Leary 46th at 229 and Beau Willis and Ryan Howard tied for 48th at 230.
