YP.com, the new YELLOWPAGES.COMSM,  AT&T's flagship local search website, is teaming up with Lone Star Sports and Entertainment to host The Battle of the Piney Woods, game officials announced today. The Battle of the Piney Woods is the annual rivalry football game between Stephen F. Austin and Sam Houston State played at Houston's Reliant Stadium.

As the title sponsor, YP.com will have a prominent presence throughout the event including signage on the field and throughout the stadium.  YP.com will also have a significant role in on-field ceremonies prior to the game, at halftime and postgame.

The YPSM brand experience, found across AT&T's flagship local search products - such as YP.com, helps users quickly find more of what they are really looking for - whether it's local businesses, events or ways to save money. Combined, AT&T's print, online and mobile local search products reach millions of consumers every year who are searching for local information.

The Battle of the Piney Woods dates back to 1923, making it the second oldest college football rivalry in the state of Texas. Sam Houston State holds a 48-35-2 edge in the series, although Stephen F. Austin has won the last two meetings.

"We are extremely excited to join forces with YP.com to continue bringing this great rivalry to Reliant Stadium," said Lone Star Sports & Entertainment general manager Heather Houston. "The Battle of the Piney Woods is one of the oldest and fiercest rivalries in Texas, and playing the game at a neutral site has made it a must-see event for fans of both schools."

Stephen F. Austin defeated Sam Houston State 31-28 last season before a crowd of 24,685 fans at Reliant Stadium. The crowd was the largest in the 85-year history of the rivalry and was the largest against a Football Championship Subdivision institution in both schools' histories.
