HOUSTON TEXANS CHEERLEADERS
Members of the Houston Texans Cheerleaders will be signing autographs and posing for photos with fans in a special promotional appearance at the "Bearkat Alley Tailgate" from 4:30 to 5:45. The Cheerleaders are visiting Bowers Stadium to help encourage fans to attend the 86th "Battle of the Piney Woods" with SFA presented by YP.com at Reliant Stadium on Oct. 8. For more information.
MARCH TO BOWERS
For the second year in a row, the Sam Houston Bearkat Marching Band will conduct a special "March to Bowers." The march begins at the library and ends at Bearkat Alley tailgate.
H-E-B TAILGATER OF THE GAME
H-E-B Tailgater of the Game judges will be roaming Bearkat Alley seeking the best tailgate setup at each game. The judges will select three finalists, each of whom will receive a $25 H-E-B gift card. The winner receives a $100 H-E-B gift card and the opportunity to compete for the "H-E-B Tailgater of the Year" prize at the final Bearkat home football game. For more information
WHATABURGER "ORANGE OUT"
The first 1,000 fans entering Bowers Stadium Thursday night will receive a coupon for a free Whatburger. All Bearkats fans attending Thursday's game are urged to wear their orange proudly.
BOWERS PARKING LOT CLOSED THURSDAY
Prior to the game Thursday, the entire Bowers Stadium parking lot will be closed. At 2:30 p.m. the lot will be opened only to vehicles with official football game parking credentials. Students may park in any BLUE or GREEN lot this day only (Thursday, Sept. 1) and will not receive a citation. Students may park in a special satellite parking lot and ride special shuttle vans Thursday running from 7:30 a.m. until 3 p.m. from the satellite lot. The satellite lot is located at the corner of IH-45 north feeder road and Lake Road. The lot is commonly known as the old Hillcrest Ford Dealership. The shuttle will drop and pick students up at the dead end next to the CHSS building only. For More Information

Rain is in the forecast for Thursday night. Sam Houston State fans are reminded that umbrellas are not permitted inside Bowers Stadium for safety reasons. If the skies appear threatening, please remember to bring personal rain gear.
YOUTH FOOTBALL TEAM HONORED
The Huntsville Bears youth football team of the Pop Warner League will be recognized Thursday Sept 1 at Elliott T. Bowers Stadium. Members of the Bears team and cheerleader groups plus the coaches will be recognized as a group during the game. The Bears will participate in a special halftime scrimmage on the field at Bowers Stadium.
SOUTHLAND CONFERENCE TELECAST
Fans in the stands at Bowers Stadium Thursday night will be part of a Southland Conference Television Network telecast that will be viewed over 21 affiliates that are part of a three-state regional network.

Hillcrest Ford, 3 Spoons Yogurt and Villas on Sycamore will have special guest representatives at "Bearkat Alley Tailgate" Thursday night .
BEARKAT STUDENTS ADMITTED WITH BEARKAT ONE CARD
All current Sam Houston students are admitted free to Sam Houston home football games at Bowers Stadium. Students may pick up their tickets in advance at the Lowman Student Center using their active Bearkat One card. Pickup times are from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Thursday.
FACULTY AND STAFF ADMITTANCE
Sam Houston faculty and staff also are admitted free to the general admission seats with their active Bearkat One card.
