Charles White from the Sam Houston men's track and field team has been named as the league's Men's Field Athlete of the week.

White, a Las Vegas, Nev. (El Dorado H.S.), native won the long jump at the Oklahoma Invitational in Norman, Okla., hosted by the University of Oklahoma.

The junior jumped a distance of 24 feet, 5.00 inches, which was more than three inches farther than the second place finisher. White is the first Bearkat to notch a men's field athlete of the week award this season.
