Sam Houston State Athletics has created a priority points system to recognize its top supporters who contribute through donations to the Bearkat Champions Fund, Academic Fund, Enrichment Funds, and/or major gifts, as well as those who purchase season tickets.

Priority points are used to rank donors and season ticket holders for the purchase of available football suites and Reserved Chairback football season tickets*, as well as Battle of the Piney Woods football tickets, premium away game tickets, playoff tickets, National Championship tickets, and parking permits for home football games. Points are also used to rank donors for invitations to exclusive athletics events throughout the year.

All ticket allocations will utilize the following priority and priority point rankings conjunctively:

1st - Bearkat Champions Season Ticket Holders (season ticket holder who donates minimum of $100 annually)

2nd -Season Ticket Holders (non-donors)

3rd -Bearkat Champions (non-season ticket holders who give $100 or more annually)

There are four components used to calculate priority points:

SHSU's Brian Bell throws a pass versus Texas A&M in 2012. Bearkat Champions receive priority for purchasing premium away game tickets. The Bearkat football team will play against Texas Tech in Lubbock, TX in 2015.

·       Two points for each $100 donated to Academic and Champions fund

·         One point for each $200 donated to enrichment fund

·         One point for each season ticket purchased (all sports)

·         One point for each consecutive year of giving

There are also two, one-time point “bonuses” for the following groups:

·       Ten points for SHSU Lettermen**

·         Five points for Alumni Association members**

*Each Reserved Chairback Season Ticket requires a $100 Bearkat Champions Academic Fund donation that is exclusive from any other gifts made to athletics within the given year.

**Lettermen and/or Alumni Association member points will be activated only once minimum donation of $100 is made to Bearkat Athletics. Members of either group must notify Bearkat Champions Fund staff of their affiliation, which will be verified before priority points are awarded.

The Sam Houston State Bearkats played in back-to-back NCAA Division I Football National Championship games to finish the 2011 and 2012 seasons. Bearkat Champions and season ticket holders receive priority for all National Championship tickets that are not used for the team, band, or students.
