Full Release of 2018 Google Cloud Academic All-America Division I team

AUSTIN – Sam Houston State pitcher Lindsey McLeod has been selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) to the 2018 Google Cloud Academic All-America Division I third team per release by the organization on Monday afternoon.

McLeod is one of five Southland Conference players who found their way onto either the first second or third team, the second most of any conference in the nation and behind only the SEC.

Other Southland players to make the squad include Central Arkansas’ Kate Meyers (first team), Nicholls’ Megan Landry (second team), ACU’s Brianna Barnhill (second team) and HBU’s Demi Janak (third team).

A junior majoring in public health, she will carry a perfect 4.00 GPA into her senior year at SHSU. This is the first academic all-America nod of her career and comes in the same year she was named to the all-Southland Conference second team after setting a new single-season school record with 222 strikeouts.

The Austin native finished the season with 15 wins and a pair of saves, holding opponents to just a .204 average while posting a 2.34 ERA in 197.1 innings pitched.

McLeod had the opportunity to be named to the all-America squad after she was named to the Google Cloud Academic All-District XII team last month, marking the second consecutive season that she has earned that distinction.
