Jorden Smith is in her first season as an assistant coach at Sam Houston State.
She previously served as the inaugural head coach of both men’s and women’s soccer teams at Blinn College, helping build those programs from the ground up in 2018. The Blinn men’s squad went 6-11 last season and the women finished 4-12-1.
Before Blinn, Smith spent two seasons as the head assistant for the Angelina College men's and women's soccer programs, which she helped establish in 2016. The women’s team compiled a 15-18 record and reached the NJCAA Region XIV Tournament semifinals during her tenure.
Smith also previously served as the assistant coach at Cisco College where the Lady Wranglers compiled a 22-10-4 record, were named regular season champions and competed in the NJCAA Region V Championship both seasons.
Smith played collegiately at Cisco and Lubbock Christian University where she earned her bachelor’s degree in exercise science in 2013. She attended McNeil High School in Round Rock and lettered in soccer all four years.
In 2014, Cisco held a No. 15 ranking and defeated the No. 5 team in the nation for the first time in school history.
Smith began her collegiate soccer career at Cisco College (2009-2011), where she served as team captain and earned all-conference honors both seasons as a center defender. As a two-year starter, she combined for 10 goals and 12 assists in 37 games and claimed All-America honors her sophomore year. The Lady Wranglers competed in the NJCAA Region V championship game both years that Smith played.
Smith transferred to Lubbock Christian University, where she was a two-year starter and captain as a center midfielder. She earned her bachelor's degree in exercise science in May 2013.
As a high school soccer player, Smith lettered all four years at McNeil High School in Round Rock. She also was a member of the Austin Lonestar Soccer Club.
