The Sam Houston State women’s soccer team will look to bounce back from its first Southland Conference loss of the season with a two-game road trip to Louisiana this weekend.

First up for the Bearkats (4-6-1 overall, 2-1-1 in SLC) is a match against Northwestern State in Natchitoches, Louisiana Friday evening at 7. The Demons are 6-6-1 overall and 3-1-1 in the Southland with wins over Stephen F. Austin (1-0), Lamar (2-1) and Incarnate Word (2-1).

The Lady Demons are coming off a 2-1 loss to McNeese which is the Bearkats’ opponent on Sunday at 1 p.m. in Lake Charles, Louisiana.

Sam Houston State was originally scheduled to play the Cowgirls on Oct. 4, but inclement weather in the area forced the match to be postponed.

McNeese State (8-3-0 overall) has won six straight matches and is currently tied with Abilene Christian for first in the Southland Conference at 4-0-0.
