Five Kats still sport an average above .300, led by Kaitlynn Dawson’s .373 mark. She also is tied for the team lead in home runs (3) with Megan Crosby and RBI (14) with Megan McDonald. The Kats are currently hitting .291 as a team, which is tops among Southland Conference teams.

The Bears have been one of the top teams in the country this season and had won seven in a row before dropping their series finale on Sunday at Central Florida. Baylor’s .337 average rankings 15th in the nation, while its 1.72 team ERA is 17th best.

Shelby Friudenberg and Shelby McGlaun each lead the team with five homers apiece while two players – Lindsey Cargill and Kyle Walker – each enter Tuesday with an average of at least .427.

Baylor leads the all-time series with the Kats by a 48-30 margin, including 25-12 in Waco. The Bears have won the last three games between the teams with Sam Houston last winning in the first game of a doubleheader in Huntsville on March 25, 2014.
