HUNTSVILLE – With the regular season winding to a close, the Sam Houston State Bearkats will take one more crack at adding a key non-conference win to its resume when they take on Texas A&M on Tuesday night at Blue Bell Park.
The game can be seen on SEC Network+ and the WatchESPN app. Fans can also follow along by following @BearkatsBSB on Twitter.
Fans unable to attend the game in College Station are encouraged to join Bearkat Athletics at the official watch party at City Hall Café in Huntsville.
Sam Houston clinched at least a share of the 2018 Southland Conference championship on Sunday against HBU and can win the title outright this weekend with one win at UIW. It would be the sixth SLC regular season title in program history.
The Kats will be going after their third straight win in College Station after having won there each of the past two years and extend their win streak in the series to three games for the first time in the history of the series.
They will go into Blue Bell Park with momentum after having rebounded from a four-game losing streak to win the final two games of their series with HBU, including a walk-off win in Game 2. Andrew Fregia was on fire throughout the weekend, going 7-for-9 and reaching base in 10 of 13 plate appearances against the Huskies with four extra-base hits.
Meanwhile, the Aggies dropped their second straight series against one of the SEC’s best last weekend at Arkansas, one week after falling in two of three to No. 1 Florida. Still, Texas A&M has posted a 22-2 non-conference record this season and has won six straight midweek games since a 5-1 loss in 18 innings to UT Arlington on March 13.
