HUNTSVILLE – The Sam Houston State Bearkats will end a three-game road trip on Wednesday when they go in search of an early signature win in Southland Conference play when they take on Central Arkansas at the Farris Center.

The Bearkats opened up league play on Saturday with a loss at Abilene Christian, but will have a stiff test against the Sugar Bears who have won each of their last four outings in a streak that includes a win over Clemson and league victories over Texas A&M-Corpus Christi and Southeastern Louisiana.

UCA sports the top scoring defense in the SLC, holding its opponents to just 50 points per game. Taylor Baudoin and Kamry Orr each rank in the league’s top 10 in scoring.

For the Kats, Jenniffer Oramas continues to lead the squad with 11.2 points per contest after reaching double digits in four of her last five times out.

The Kats will be looking to snap an eight-game skid against the Sugar Bears. UCA owns a 9-3 advantage in the series with the last Sam Houston win coming in Huntsville during the 2012-13 season.
