HUNTSVILLE – The Sam Houston State Bearkats will close out the non-conference portion of their season on Wednesday when they travel to Baton Rouge to take on the LSU Tigers at the Pete Maravich Assembly Center.

Tipoff against the Tigers is set for 6:30 p.m. from the PMAC and can be watched on SEC Network+ and the WatchESPN app. Live stats are also available and fans can get live updates by following @BearkatsWBB on Twitter.

Wednesday will serve as the Kats’ final tuneup before they kick off Southland Conference play on Saturday afternoon at Abilene Christian.

Sam Houston enters Wednesday still in search of its first win away from Johnson Coliseum and having dropped each of its last two outings to Southern Miss and Texas State. It will be Sam’s first game following a 10-day layoff since falling to Texas State on December 17.

Sophomore guard Jenniffer Oramas continues to lead the team in scoring at 10.4 points per game with five more players falling in behind her with at least 6.0 per game. The Kats will be going up against an LSU squad that has been hot of late, winning its last five outings after most recently picking up a 19-point win at Little Rock on December 20.

The Tigers are forcing 20 turnovers per game and have yet to allow more than 75 points in game. They are hitting just 18.8 percent from beyond the 3-point arc but do not rely on the longball, attempting just eight per game.

Raigyne Louis and Chloe Jackson carry the bulk of the load for LSU, averaging 15.8 and 15.6 points per game apiece, respectively.
