The Sam Houston State women's soccer team is one of 572 teams competing at the NCAA Division I, II and III and in the NAIA that has earned a 2010-11 National Soccer College Coaches Association of Americe (NSCAA) team academic award.

To receive the honor, a soccer team must produce an overall squad grade point average of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale.

Sam Houston State is one of six Southland Conference women's soccer teams to be so recognized.

The Bearkat soccer team produced a 3.13 overall grade point average and a 3.28 semester GPA during the 2011 spring semester. Ten Sam Houston players were recognized as part of the 2010-11 Southland Conference Academic Honor Roll.

Bearkat soccer has been one of the leaders in academic achievement for Sam Houston athletics since the program's inauguration in 2003.

Sam Houston soccer players have earned Academic All-Southland Conference honors seven times in the past four seasons.
