San Antonio - Solo home runs by Hilary Adams, Ashley Isbell and Kim Damian powered Sam Houston State into the finals of the Southland Conference softball tournament late Saturday night as the Bearkats defeated McNeese State 3-2 in extra innings.

Damian's home run came in the second extra inning of action with one out in the ninth. Adams and Isbell both hit home runs to lead off the fourth inning.

Sam Houston will face No. 1 seed and regular season Southland softball champion Texas State in the finals at 11 a.m. Sunday at Roadrunner Field.

Shelby Lancaster pitched six and a third innings and Tomi Garrison finished the final two and two thirds to complete strong performances in the circle.

After falling to McNeese State in a rain delayed second round game Saturday morning, the Bearkats shut out Central Arkansas and A&M-Corpus Christi to advance into the semifinals against McNeese State.

Sam Houston last reached the Southland finals in 2007 when the Bearkats defeated Texas State to advance to their only NCAA Division I regional softball appearance.
