Sam Houston State finished in seventh place in the Southland Conference 2012 men's golf championship.
The 54-hole, three-day event was played on the par 72, 7,346-yard course at Stonebridge Golf Club in McKinney.
Bearkat seniors Garrett Driver and Scott Kelly both earned top 10 finishes in the individual medalist standings. Driver placed fourth with a 75-73-74--222 total while Kelly finished tied for seventh with a 73-76-75--224 card.
The seventh place finish for Kelly marked his second Southland top 10 performance Kelly was the tournament's individual champion as a freshman in 2008.
Central Arkansas and Lamar finished in a deadlock for the team trophy, both with 690 totals. The championship was decided in a sudden-death playoff.
UT-Arlington placed third with a 903 total followed by Stephen F. Austin 914, Texas State 917, Southeastern Louisiana 918, Sam Houston 923, UT-San Antonio 932, Nicholls State 940 and McNeese State 965.
