UT Arlington edged Sam Houston State 4-3 in a Southland Conference women's tennis match at the UTA Tennis Center Saturday.

The Mavericks, who came into the match in third place in the Southland race, upped their season record to 13-7 and stand 8-2 in league action. With their regular season finale tomorrow in San Marcos against Texas State, the Bearkats are 11-7 for the year and 5-5 in conference play.

UTA won the doubles point with victories in the number one and three doubles pro sets. Sam Houston took its three points at number four, five and six with Tatyana Postnikova, Nadia Dubyanskaya and Olivia Battye winning.
