Carli Kolbe has been named as "Most Valuable Player" for the 2011 Sam Houston State University volleyball team.

The senior from College Station is Bearkat volleyball's only three-time first-team All-Southland Conference performer.

Kolbi leaves Sam Houston with her name etched all over the Kat record book.

She completes her career No. 1 in attempts, No. 4 in kills, No. 10 in digs and No. 15 in blocks. She is one of only eight Bearkat volleyball players to total both more than 1,000 kills and 1,000 digs.

She was the conference leader in kills this year and also was named to the All-Southland tournament team.

The "Most Valuable Player" awards for the 2011-12 sports season were announced at the annual Sam Houston State University spring athletic banquet at the Lowman Student Center Ballroom on April 23.
