A pair of three-run homers led the Bearkats to a 10-7, come-from-behind win over Texas-Arlington at Don Sanders Stadium Tuesday night.

Sam Houston (24-17, 9-6) jumped out to a 4-2 lead after left fielder Luke Plucheck hit a towering, three-run homer to left field.

Jessie Plumlee, who was making his first career start at first base, led off the game with a double and scored on a sacrifice fly by Kevin Miller. Plumlee has started 29 games this season between second base and catcher.

Freshman Dirk Masters made his first start of the season in right field and doubled to deep left in the second and scored on a groundout by center fielder Colt Atwood to give the Kats a 5-2 lead.

Tyler Eppler started and pitched a short outing for the Kats. He gave up two runs in 2 2/3 innings and gave way to Logan Boyd who got the final out of the third inning.

Cody Dickson pitched 2 2/3 innings of relief and gave up four runs. UTA led off the fifth with a solo homer and a walk came around to score.

Juan Cortina replaced Dickson and gave up a run in the seventh to give UTA a 7-5 lead.

Hayden Simerly blasted a three-run homer to right field as part of a Bearkat five-run, seventh inning. Sam Houston took a 10-7 lead and never gave it back.

Jason Simms pitched a perfect ninth inning and picked up his sixth save of the season.

The Bearkats are on the road at Northwestern State this weekend.
