Demarcus Gatlin led Sam Houston with 13 points as the Bearkats fell 64-37 in a non-conference men's basketball game against Texas A&M at Reed Arena Wednesday night.

Texas A&M (7-1) never trailed, jumping out to a 22-6 lead. Ray Turner scored 15 points and grabbed 10 rebounds and Elston Turner added 14 points for the Aggies.

Sam Houston (3-6) hit 15-of-60 from the floor and was out-rebounded 55-26. The Bearkats entered the game with only six scholarship players available to suit up due to injuries.

The Aggies hit 26-of-55 field goal attempts for 47 percent shooting.

Marcus James led the Bearkats on the boards with seven rebounds. Darius Gatson scored six points for the Bearkats.

Sam Houston will travel to Denton Saturday to face the University of North Texas.
