Konner Tucker scored 17 points including the game-winning three point basket with 2:01 to play as Sam Houston State defeated Texas State 63-61 Saturday afternoon in San Marcos.

The victory earned the Bearkats their 10th consecutive trip to the Southland Conference Post-Season Tournament which begins Wednesday at the Merrell Center in Katy.

Sam Houston will be the No. 7 seed and play Stephen F. Austin at 12 noon Wednesday.

Steven Werner also scored in double figures for the Bearkats with 14 points.

Sam Houston trailed 34-30 at intermission in a game that was tied nine times, the last time at 59-59.
