Davis was the Southland Conference indoor pentathlon champion and the runner-up outdoors in the women's heptathlon. The senior from Waller compiled a 3.63 overall grade point average as a biology major and chemistry minor. She set or tied personal bests in each of her events at the indoor pentathlon and placed among the top three competitors in four of the eight heptathlon events. She earned All-Southland honors both at the indoor and outdoor meets.

Davis was recognized in March as the Southland Conference Indoor Track Women's Student-Athlete of the Year. She is a Dean's List student who has represented SHSU as a delegate to the NCAA Student-Athlete Advisory Council meeting at SMU in Dallas in October.

Dooley, a junior from Flower Mound, has compiled a 3.21 overall grade point average as a kinesiology major and special education minor. She received All-Southland Conference honors with her runner-up finish at the outdoor meet in the 1500 meters (2:19.41). She also placed eighth in the 800 meters (2.19.41) outdoors and was fifth in the Southland indoor mile run (5:05.55).

She was the SHSU women's cross country "Most Valuable Player" after finishing 14^th at the Southland Conference championship meet, the highest individual finish by a Bearkat in the league competition since 2004. Dooley was the top female performer in each of the Kats' five meets during the 2011 season.

Zoch, a senior from Giddings, has compiled a 3.92 overall grade point average as a biology and kinesiology double major at Sam Houston. During the 2012 Southland Conference women's outdoor championships, she placed fourth in the shot put (47' 4.25"), fifth in the hammer (167' 5") and 18th in the discus (122' 11").

The senior earned All-Southland Conference indoors with third place finish in indoor shot (46' 25"). Zoch won eight medals in outdoor regular season meets including first places in the hammer and shot put at SFA dual and a runner-up performance in shot put at Rice Invitational.

The Academic All-Southland Conference team is voted upon by the head coaches, sports information directors and academic/counselors from each Southland institution. Student‐athletes must possess a 3.0 cumulative GPA, have completed one full academic year at the nominating institution and participated in at least 50 percent of the team's competition to qualify for the all‐academic squad.
