Clint Anders has been named as "Most Valuable Student-Athlete" for the 2011 Sam Houston State University men's cross country team.

The junior from Weimer placed 42nd at the 2011Southland men's cross country meet.

He posted top 15 performances in three of his five meets this fall including a fifth place performance at the Centenary Gents Classic.

The "Most Valuable Player" awards for the 2011-12 sports season were announced at the annual Sam Houston State University spring athletic banquet at the Lowman Student Center Ballroom on April 23.
