Second-team NTCA All-American selection ... For the second year in a row led the team all year in most of all categories ... Posted her best finish at the home event earning tournament MVP with a 224.80 ... Janine ended the season averaging 205.56 ... She then added another MVP title at the Mid-Winter Invite averaging 221.40 and was a part of 3 All Tournament Teams in 2016. 2016 also was highlighted by her third All NTCA-Academic honor, her second CoSIDA Academic All District honoree as well as her First CoSIDA Academic National honoree, and at this year’s National Championships was awarded the prestigious Elite 90 award.
Led the team all year in a majority of categories ... Posted her best finish at the Prairie View Invitational where she led the team with a 211.33 average for 6 games ... Ended the season averaging 202.95 for the year which is second all-time ... 2015 also was highlighted by her second All NTCA-Academic honor, a CoSIDA Academic All District honoree, as well as the cover page of the NCAA’s Champions magazine for her journey as a student-athlete.
As a fresham, played a big role in helping the Bearkats advance to the NCAA Championships and win the school's first Division I national championship ... Bowled a 277 game at Central Missouri that still stands as the fifth-best individual game in school hisory ... was in the starting five for the National Championship match against Nebraska.
Bringing a solid resume of regional and national credentials, Penatzer’s biggest accomplishments before joining the Bearkats include a top 65 finish at the 2014 Junior Gold Youth Championships in Buffalo, New York. This last summer was highlighted once again with new accomplishments as she successfully defended her scratch JBT title at the New Mexico Open where she earned an invite entry to the Sydney Australian Youth Open in May 2017. After becoming the first Bearkat ever to bowl her way on to Team USA in January at team trials, Heather once again against a record setting field of nearly 900 females at this year’s Junior Gold National Championships bowled her way on to Junior Team USA. As a result of being the number one qualifier going in to match play she solidified a repeat opportunity on Junior Team USA as well as joined a fellow teammate as becoming the first ever Bearkats to make the top 16 final cut.
