HOUSTON – On Day 2 of the TRACK Kat Klash, the Sam Houston bowlers posted another 2-3 record for the day and will enter Sunday’s bracket round in 8th overall.

The Kats improved on their Baker pin total by 259 pins, but it was only good enough to move them up one spot in the standings.

“We had a few bad breaks not go our way, but I thought we did bowl a little better today,” said head coach Brad Hagen. “We have got to come out tomorrow and see if we can climb the ladder.”

Madysen Keller posted a five game average of 190 for the Kats to place 25th in the individual standings. Bea Hernandez was right behind her with a 187 average and 29th place finish. Katelyn Dickerson had the best game for the Kats with a 265.

After a close 8-pin loss in the opening match of the day to Louisiana Tech, the Kats bounced back with a big win against McKendree. In that match, the Kats posted their biggest score of the day, rolling a 1,093. They also closed the day with a win, knocking off Maryland Eastern Shore by just 8 pins.

The Kats will open up Sunday against No. 7 seed Alabama-Birmingham.
