Entering the final day at the Mid-Winter Invitational in Arkansas, the Sam Houston bowlers were in position to take their third title of the season. However, after a rough day on the lanes the Kats fell to sixth.

They opened the day as the No. 3 seed taking on No. 4 McKendree. The defending national champs handed Sam Houston a 4-2 defeat after the Kats opened with wins in the first two games. McKendree went on to win the tournament.

That dropped the Kats into a match with Arkansas State. Once again Sam Houston jumped out to a 2-0 lead before falling to the hosts in seven games.

In the fifth place match against Tulane, the Kats fell behind 3-0 before rallying to take the next two games before falling in 6.

Sam Houston finished the tournament with an 8-5 overall record.
