The women’s golf team took fourth place on Tuesday at the Little Rock Golf Classic after shooting a 308 for the second consecutive round.

“The course was difficult today temperatures never got above 45,” said coach Tommy Chain. “We fell back at the beginning of the round and then regained our composure to finish near the top but  fell just short of what was needed to win.”

Hanna Alberto took third, her 4th top 3 finish of the season, closing the tournament out just two strokes off the lead.

“Hanna had another solid week finishing just two back from first finishing third all alone,” Chain said. “Another great ball striking round for her and just could not get the punch to drop.”

Alberto opened her round with a birdie on the par-5 third hole. She then had back-to-back birdies at 13 and 14 to get her back to even-par on the day. But she gave the stroke right back on the next hole outing her at 1-over where she finished.

Gianti Mahardhika shot a 76 to get into the top 20, finishing 16th and Jenna Phillips, who had the lead after the first round, shot an 81 and finished 21st.

The tournament will close out the fall season for the Bearkats.

“I feel that the team is close to having some great rounds looking forward to some hard practice at the Christmas break and be ready for the spring semester,” Chain said.
