KAPOLEI, HAWAII – With four golfers in the top 20, the Sam Houston women currently sit atop the leader board at the Rainbow Wahine Invitational.

The Kats shot a 289 at the Par 72 Kapolei Golf Course and lead by two shots over Sacramento State. 

Kenlie Barrett and Viera Permata Rosada each shot a 71 to lead the Kats. They are in a tie for second place and are just one shot off the lead with 36 holes remaining. 

Hanna Alberto is in a tie for 14thafter shooting an opening round 73 and Zulaikah Nurziana Nasser is 19thfollowing a 74. Leah Alberto is in 27that 3-over par. 

Barrett took advantage of a stretch from holes 6-9 where she carded three birdies and held on for one of only three rounds under par in the 80 player field. Rosada also carded three birdies for her round under par.  

The Kats will continue on Tuesday with the final round of the tournament on Wednesday.
