KAPOLEI, HAWAII – With their low round of the tournament, the Sam Houston women’s golf team finished fourth at the Rainbow Wahine Invitational. The Kats fired an even-par round of 288, finishing in a tight race for the title, with just five shots separating the top four teams. 

 

Freshman Viera Permata Rosada shot a team-low round of 69 on Wednesday and finished in a tie for second place. She opened her day with a birdie and made the turn at 1-under. Two birdies on the back nine including one on No. 17 to shoot a 69.

 

Hanna Alberto also finished in the top 10 after an up and down round of 71 that included six birdies and five bogeys. She closed the tournament in a tie for 6th at 2-under. 

 

Leah Alberto shot her best round of the tournament on Wednesday with a 73, moving her 8 spots up the leaderboard in a tie for 27th at 7-over. Kenlie Barrett was one shot back in a tie for 32nd after a 75 on Wednesday. Zulaikah Nuziana Nasser finished in a tie for 36th at 9-over following a 77.

 

The Kats are finished with the fall schedule and will get back to action on Feb 10thfor the Texas State Invitational.
