HUNTSVILLE – The Sam Houston State women’s golf team will host it’s annual golf tournament on Monday and Tuesday at Raven Nest Golf Club.
The Tournament will get started with a shotgun start and 8:30 a.m. and the teams will play 36 holes on Monday. Tuesday will also start at 8:30 a.m. with a shotgun start.

Ten other schools will compete with the Bearkats in this year’s tournament, including five other Southland Conference squads. Houston Baptist, SFA, Texas A&M Corpus Christi, McNeese, Incarnate Word from the Southland will be joined by Alabama State, Texas Southern, McLennan CC, Western Texas CC and Oklahoma City University to make up the 11-tam field.
Starting holes 1-4 - Sam Houston, HBU and Texas A&M Corpus Christi
Starting holes 5-9 – SFA, McNeese, UIW
Starting holes 10-13 – Alabama St., Oklahoma City, McLennan
Starting holes 14-17 – Texas Southern, Western Texas
It was a record-breaking day for the Sam Houston State women’s golfers and they claimed the title at the 2016 title.
Gianti Mahardhika shot a school-record 66 to finish in second at 5-under par, two strokes behind Lamar’s Elodie Chaplet who won the individual title.
The Bearkats three-round total of 873 was also a school record, breaking the previous mark set in 2013 by one stroke.
