For the second consecutive year, the Sam Houston State women’s soccer program will be holding an open practice on April 2 from 2:30 to 4 p.m. at Pritchett Field as part of a campaign by the United Soccer Coaches (USC) to promote the sport.
The open practice will be in conjunction with the USC Open Training Week, which is held April 1-7 in cities across the country. This nationwide initiative provides an opportunity for coaches from all levels and backgrounds to experience new environments, observe high-level training sessions, and learn from one another.
Men’s and women’s teams at the college and professional levels welcome local soccer coaches in their communities to attend a practice. Interested coaches can register for this event by going to www.unitedsoccercoaches.org and clicking on the events tab.
Coaches can get an up close look at how the Sam Houston State women’s soccer team prepares for their upcoming spring games. Head coach Tom Brown will be available after the practice to discuss the session and answer any questions.
