The Sam Houston State women’s soccer team kicks off the 2019 season with an exhibition match against the University of the Southwest at home on Aug. 14. The Bearkats went 3-12-3 last season, losing five games by two goals or less, but return some talented players, including six seniors, who are set on getting SHSU back to the Southland Conference Tournament.

All six seniors were on the Bearkats’ SLC tournament qualifier two seasons ago and would like to close out their careers with a bang. As the clock ticks down to opening day with practice underway, here is a quick, light-hearted Q&A with our seniors to better get to know them.

First up are Hannah Dupin, Acacia Shepardson and Katy Johnson.

Hannah made three starts in 17 appearances as a junior last season. She registered a season-high three shots in the Bearkats’ 1-1 overtime draw against Lamar on Sept. 28, 2018. She has three assists in her SHSU career.
