HUNTSVILLE - Sam Houston State midfielder Courtney Pawlik has been named to the 2019 Academic All-District VII women’s soccer second team, presented by CoSIDA, the organization recently announced.
The Missouri City native has a perfect 4.0 grade-point average in health sciences and health care administration. Pawlik, who is a senior academically but a junior eligibility-wise, has made the President’s and Dean’s lists each semester she has been at Sam Houston State.
She is also a member of the Sam Houston State Student-Athlete Advisory Committee.
On the field, Pawlik was the Bearkats’ team captain and started 14 matches while appearing in all 19 of Sam Houston State’s contests this season. She had two goals and three assists to help the Bearkats advance to the Southland Conference Tournament after missing out on the postseason last season.
“We are proud of Courtney being selected to the all-district team,” head coach Tom Brown said. “She works so hard to excel in the classroom and on the field. This recognition is well deserved by her.”
