HUNTSVILLE – Looking to bounce back, the Sam Houston State men’s golf team hits the road for the Trinity Forest Invitational in Dallas, Texas, on Sept. 23-25.
The field for the three-day tournament includes host SMU, Abilene Christian, Ball State, Baylor, College of Charleston, Oral Roberts, Rice, UTSA, Florida, Little Rock, New Mexico
Trinity Forest Golf Club resembles many of the great old courses of the Northeast and Great Britain, featuring a links-style course on a rolling meadow with tall native grasses and dramatic bunkering and green complexes.

Trinity Forest will become the future home of the PGA Tour's AT&T Byron Nelson Championship, as well as annually host NCAA invitational tournament and additional high-profile professional and amateur events.

The Kats took a 12th place finish at the Ram Master’s Invitational in Fort Collins, Colo., early last week. Sam Houston combined for a total score of 872 while William Holcomb led the crew with a 214 on the card. The junior shot 72 in the first and second round and posted a 70-stroke round to finish the tournament.
Grayson Blunt followed closely behind with a total of 218 over the weekend. He posted a pair of 71s on the first day and finished with 76 in the third round to tie for 38th overall.
