EWA BEACH, HAWAII – On Tuesday, the men’s golf team climbed three spots on the leaderboard into ninth at the Hoakalei C.C. Invitational.

 

The Bearkats improved by seven shots on Tuesday to fire a 284 on the Par 72, 7,248 yards course to get their team score under par for the tournament. 

 

Noah Steele and Luis Carrera led the way for the Bearkats with rounds of 70. Steele carded five birdies on the day including his final hole. Carrera also had five birdies including three of his first five holes to start his back nine. 

 

Steele’s round jumped him nine spots on the leaderboard into a tie for 16th while Carrera moved up 39 spots to No. 55 in the 113 player field. Jack Randle is 24th following a 1-over round of 73 and Ting-Wei Hsieh is 31st at even par for the tournament. William Holcomb sits in 94th after shooting a 75 on Tuesday. 

 

The tournament will conclude on Wednesday.
