After two rounds of play at the Trinity Forest Invitational, the men’s golf team stands in 8th place with one round remaining on Tuesday.
The Kats climbed one spot in the team standings on Monday after improving their first-round score by 12 shots. Sam Houston shot a 279 Monday, the sixth best round of the day and improved to 2-over for the tournament.
Noah Steele shot a 67 on Monday to climb 10 spots on the leaderboard. He carded five birdies and just one bogey and currently sits in a tie for seventh. William Holcomb is also in tie for 7th after shooting a 68 on Monday.
Host school SMU, along with Arizona State leads the tournament at 21-under par. There are a total of 17 teams in the field.
The Kats will close out the tournament on Tuesday with an 8 a.m. tee time.
