HUNTSVILLE – The Sam Houston State Bearkats will look to even up their league record on their home floor when they host Central Arkansas on Wednesday at Bernard G. Johnson Coliseum.

Wednesday’s game can be followed via live stats will also be available and fans can get live updates of the game via Twitter by following @BearkatsMBB.

Sam Houston opened up SLC play on Saturday with a narrow loss on the road at Abilene Christian despite 18 points from John Dewey III and 17 from Christopher Galbreath Jr. The Kats hit seven threes in the first half and held the Wildcats to just two made field goals in the final 12:30, but could not quite erase what was a 14-point deficit in the second half.

Central Arkansas comes into Huntsville having split its first two league games of the year under fourth-year head coach Russ Pennell. The Bears are averaging better than 80 points a game with senior guard Jordan Howard leading the way as the top scorer in the Southland Conference at nearly 24 points per game.

UCA already owns a convincing 27-point win at California earlier in the year and nearly upset UCLA at Pauley Pavilion, highlighting a difficult non-conference schedule.

The Bearkats have won 13 of the 15 all-time meetings with the Bears, but are 7-0 in games played in Huntsville. Sam Houston split a pair of games last season with UCA taking the lone regular season matchup before the Kats avenged it with a victory in the opening round of the Southland Conference Tournament.
