KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Sam Houston State senior Josh Delaney was recently recognized for his work in the community as a nominee for the National Association of Basketball Coaches 2019 Give Back Team.

The NABC Give Back Team recognizes 10 men’s college basketball players for their outstanding community service efforts. Delaney was among a group of 63 student-athletes nominated by college coaches and sports information directors across the country.

The former guard from Harker Heights, who graduated in May, was a third-team All-Southland Conference selection for the Bearkats this past season. Sam Houston State won the regular-season conference title and earned a berth to the NIT Tournament.

Delaney had his best season as a Bearkat during his senior campaign. For the year, he averaged a career-high 10.3 points and 4.8 assists per game and twice scored a career-high 30 points in victories over Abilene Christian and Houston Baptist.
