Conway, Ark. - The Bearkats won the doubles point and Imke Jagau, Tatyana Postnikova and Nadia Dubyanskaya won in singles as Sam Houston defeated Central Arkansas 4-3 in a Southland Conference women's tennis dual match Saturday.
The victory ups the Bearkat women to 10-4 in dual match play and 4-2 in Southland Conference action. Central Arkansas dropped to 6-12 for the year and 0-7 in league action.
Sam Houston started the four-hour match by winning all three doubles pro sets.
In singles, Jagau won at number one over Simona Horsikyan 6-3, 6-3. The two decisive singles wins came at number four and five as Postnikova knocked off Allison Hartman 6-4, 6-0 and Dubyanskaya defeated Sasha Ruocco 4-6 7-5 6-4.
Sam Houston completes its weekend road trip Sunday with a match against Northwestern State at Natchitoches, La.
