HUNTSVILLE — Sam Houston could not get anything going at the plate in a 2-0 loss to McNeese at the Bearkat Softball Complex on Wednesday.
The Bearkats managed just three hits to fall to 13-22 on the season. Sam Houston returns to WAC play on Friday with a doubleheader at Seattle.
Brailey Wasik, the WAC Hitter of the Week, notched the Kats' first hit when she singled down the left field line in the bottom of the fourth, but she was left stranded at first.
Hannah Scheaffer had a single in the fifth, and
Elia Hebel accounted for the third hit with a single in the seventh.
Emma Guindon was solid in the circle for Sam Houston. She only gave up four hits in seven innings, but the Cowgirls finally scratched two runs across in the top of the seventh to earn the victory.
