SAN MARCOS — Sam Houston was one-out away from picking up a big road win at Texas State, but the Bobcats hit a two-run home run in the eighth for a 4-2 victory on Tuesday.
The Bearkats (15-27 overall) have now lost 10 of the last meeting with the Bobcats (26-14-1) since 2014.

The Bearkats added another run in the fourth when they finally got their first hit to make it 2-0.
Jordan Peno walked and moved into scoring position on a single by
Hannah Scheaffer.
Julia Herzinger brought Peno home with an RBI single to center field.

Emma Guindon cruised through the first five innings but gave up a run in the sixth and another with two-outs in the seventh to force extra innings.
Daryn Grams gave up the game-winning home run with one out in the eighth to take the loss.
Sam Houston will host Stephen F. Austin in a three-game WAC series beginning with a doubleheader on Friday at 4 p.m.
