TULSA, Okla. — Tulsa scored two runs in the bottom of the sixth to come away with a 7-5 victory over Sam Houston on Sunday to close out the Tulsa Tournament.
The Bearkats (9-17) grabbed a 2-0 lead in the top of the first inning when
Tricia Yarotsky was hit by a pitch and
Brailey Wasik and
Brodie Quinlan both walked to load the bases.
Jordan Peno followed with single up the middle and
Hannah Scheaffer was hit by a pitch to bring in another run.
After the Golden Hurricanes scored in the bottom of the first, Sam Houston added another run in the fourth.
Kylie Hobbs walked to begin the inning then scored on an RBI double by
Ellie Grill.
Tulsa scored four runs in the bottom of the fifth to take a 5-3 lead, but the Bearkats rallied to tie it in the top of the sixth. Scheaffer led off with a single and pinch runner
Chandler Talbot made it to third on a double by
Kelsey Bunch.
Emily Telg cut the lead to one with an RBI single up the middle, and Grill tied it with a sacrifice fly to right field. The Golden Hurricanes matched it with two runs in the bottom of the sixth to steal the victory.

Northern Iown broke a scoreless tie with two runs in the fifth inning to top Sam Houston 6-0 in game three of the Tulsa Tournament on Sunday morning.
